Manned Observation Stations

	About the MOS Network
	The Manned Observation Stations (MOS) Unit was established in CWRDM in 1992 with the available personnel and infrastructure facilities to store and retrieve data and make it available for the research requirements of the Centre and for other user agencies. As a part of the research projects taken up by CWRDM, several climatologic and hydrologic observation stations were installed, and also data on different parameters collected from the field. A need for the management of these data was recognised. Data are also collected from the observation stations of other departments/agencies.

	Carrying capacity based developmental planning for Greater Kochi region (funded by MoEF) Lakshadweep Island Water Management Project (LIWAMP) funded by ICEF The MOS unit also takes up research projects and support other divisions/units in their research pursuits.
